Gimp
Gimp
Version: 2.0.5 Date: Mar 16, 2004
Description: I've always found Gimp to be a little hard to use, but that's probably because it's such a powerful graphics editor. It tries to compete with Photoshop, and it might miss on some features and ease-of-use, but you can't beat the price - free! I prefer GraphicConverter for my day-to-day graphics viewing and simple editing, but give this a try if you need some advanced editing capabilities.
GraphicConverter
Graphic Converter
Version: 5.9 Date: Jun 1, 2006
Description: The best shareware graphic editor for the Mac! Can't do everything that PhotoShop can, but it's great for organizing digital photos and touching up web graphics!
iPhoto
iPhoto
Version: 5.0.2 Date: Apr 23, 2004
Description: A truly incredible photo manager! The interface can take a little while to get used to (it's almost like iTunes, but not quite), but the database engine is extremely powerful (like iTunes' database). You can find additional help in Apple's iPhoto 5 Discussion Forum.
Photoshop Elements
Photoshop Elements
Version: 3.0x199 Date: Oct 4, 2004
Description: If you need more features than GraphicConverter has, it may be time to step up to "Photoshop Lite". This application doesn't have as many features as its big brother Photoshop CS, but should be fine for most photo/image hobbyists. For additional help check out: For plugins, try:
SimpleImage
